Nancy A. Roberson, Dayton Estate Planning and Probate Attorney

Nancy is an Attorney and Counselor at law and has focused her practice on estate planning and probate law for over 20 years. She received her B.A. in English from the Indiana University in 1971 and her J.D. degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1981, where she was a member of the Editorial Board for the University of Dayton Law Review. Nancy is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Dayton Bar Association, and the Christian Legal Society. Nancy formerly served as Chairperson of the Dayton Bar Association's Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law Group and as President of the Dayton Trust and Estate Planning Group. Since 2003, Nancy has been board-certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in the area of Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law.

Nancy is proud to be board-certified by the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) as a specialist in the area of Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Law, which means that she is one of a select group of attorneys in Ohio who have met the stringent criteria required to earn the recognition as a OSBA Board Certified Specialist.

Nancy's interest in the fields of estate planning and probate law grew out of her experience of being widowed at the age of twenty-seven when her daughter Amy was two years old. Amy is now thirty-eight, married, and working for Nancy, and Nancy has been married again for twenty-nine years to Bob Roberson, whol also works for Nancy.. Nancy co-founded and co-facilitates two support groups for widows, one of which is in its 22nd year.  In addition, Nancy is actively involved with her church and her family’s common interest of Indiana basketball.

Nancy has presented the "Are You Prepared?" seminar for years and coauthored the workbook, Solutions, in 1994 with Pam Walker.  In 2011, due to Nancy’s passion for educating the community about the importance of planning for death and disability, Nancy received the distinguished Communication and Leadership Award from Toastmaster’s International District 41.  In 2012, Nancy Roberson was chosen as the year's sole winner of the Lloyd O'Hara Public Interest Law Award for the attorney who has best represented poor, disabled, and underprivileged clients over time. This award is sponsored by Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc., Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc., and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc.

Nancy was recognized by the Dayton Daily News as one of the Ten Top Women in Dayton in 2012. In 2013, Nancy was honored by the Ohio Diversity Council as a recipient of the Leadership Excellence Award. The award was presented to Nancy at the Northeast Ohio Multicultural Leadership Summit in Cleveland. Nancy also authored the column, “You Don’t Know What You Don’t Know” that was featured in Living With Loss magazine.
